This is amazing! How was this done? I am trying to make a hippo cake for a birthday. My last achievement was a shark cake and it was a battle. Please email me: stephanie@gamponia.ca Instructions or a simple "I just used fondent" would really be appreciated! Thank you!

The major trick to this is using a buttercream recipe that will crust. I then used Viva paper towels to scupt/push the icing where I wanted. All the coloring was done with an airbrush but similar effects can be done with dyed icing. The Wilton recipe for icing will crust.
